Pikes Peak

The Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb is one of America's oldest race events held every year on the 4th of July. Motorcycles race this event also.
The building at the top serves the world’s best high altitude donuts.

 

Pikes Peak Cog Railway

Cog railway to the top of Pikes Peak. Wildlife encounters likely. Vista’s, panorama’s will delight you. Dress warm – even in the summer.

 

Pikes Peak Highway

Toll road to the top.
Many places to stop and view from.
Picnicking is encouraged.

Pikes Peak International Raceway

Auto (NASCAR, Indy League, etc.) Racing and Motorcycle (AMA Superbikes) Racing!
One Mile "D" shaped oval – "The Fastest Mile!"

 

Garden of the Gods

Huge red sandstone spires surrounded by perfectly shaped pine trees.
This magnificent setting with Pikes Peak as it’s backdrop is truly beautiful.
Picnic areas. Hiking & biking trails. Splendid new Visitor Center.

 

Cave of the Winds

Labyrinth of caves with stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone, and more geologic wonders.
Daily tours, gift shops.

 

Manitou Cliff Dwellings

Anasazi ruins. Two museums.
Next door to the Cave of the Winds.

 

Royal Gorge

An incredible canyon cut by the Arkansas River! Highest suspension bridge in the world. Cable car rides take you down to the river.
Located about 40 miles south of Colorado Springs and well worth the drive.
Those with Acrophobia need not apply.

 

Arkansas River Tours

Ride the rapids of the river that formed the Royal Gorge.
Multiple River Running companies run different sections of the Arkansas River.
Some run the canyon.

 

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Excellent Zoo. Natural habitat features.
Only mountain Zoo in the U.S.

 

Seven Falls

These Seven Falls drop a total of 300 feet to the canyon floor.
Walkway to the top right next to the Falls. Good workout.

 

United Stated Air Force Academy

Where the cream of the crop get their wings.
World famous USAFA Chapel.

 

Santa’s Workshop – North Pole

Theme Park. Lots of fun for the young ones.
Situated next to the toll gate to Pikes Peak.
